We built the dating app we wanted to use ourselves — one where the first impression is something you actually know.
The thesis
Photos tell you whether someone's your type. Bios tell you what they want you to think. Neither tells you whether you'll have anything to talk about on the third date.
SKILLFLIRT puts a quiz first. Take a 60-second challenge, see who else nailed it, message someone whose answer was so wrong it was charming. Connections start with a real signal — what someone actually thinks, before either of you has performed a single thing.
What's inside
- Quiz battles — 1-v-1 real-time, async duels, team battles, and live rooms for up to 12.
- Match deck — sorted by shared quiz history, location, and the categories you geek out on.
- Real chat — voice notes, image messages, reactions. Built for actual conversations, not just openers.
- Daily challenges — keep your streak alive, climb the leaderboard, earn power-ups.
- Tournaments — seasonal bracket competition with prize pools.
- Study paths — pre-built tracks across 12+ categories if you want to actually learn something.
Where we are
Stockholm-based, EU-hosted, GDPR-native. Premium subscriptions are processed in EUR via Stripe; coins are an in-game currency with no cash-out path.
Engineering principles: server-authoritative scoring (no client-side cheating), opaque session tokens with RS256 JWT fallback, scrypt + per-user salt for passwords, mandatory TOTP for admin access, audit logs on every privileged mutation, Stripe-direct payments (no third-party billing intermediaries).
What we're not
- An advertising platform — we don't sell data, we sell Premium.
- A casino — coins can't cash out and bundles aren't gambling.
- A casual hookup app — the quiz friction is intentional.
- A learning app — quizzes are the matchmaker, not the product.
